  1. Everyone qualifies – from mild to complex cases.
  2. Metal wires are strongest for teeth straightening.
  3. There are no limits with fixed braces.
  4. Individual teeth can be moved at the right time for the right results.
  5. Fixed braces are ALWAYS quickest – If the same patient got fixed braces or clear aligners, fixed braces would be quickest. There is a myth that clear aligners are quicker – this is because clear aligners are slightly limited and can only treat mild to medium shorter term cases.
  6. Fixed braces always take you to a perfect result.
  7. Many patients move from online clear aligners to fixed braces for a superior desired result

Braces fix every type of orthodontic issue

Underbite

Braces Dublin FAQ’s – Common Questions Answered

Braces in our Dublin clinics cost €2,499 (2 arches) for 6 to 12 months and €3,899 for 12 to 24 months. The exact cost depends on the complexity of your case and the time required to finish your treatment. We also offer flexible payment plans to make Invisalign more affordable.

1) Humm Finance (Flexi Fi) – third party finance provider. You can finance all or some of the treatment cost.
No deposit is required and you can pay monthly for up to 36 months. Click here to get a finance quote now.

Example – €2,500 treatment over 36 months with Humm Finance is approx €80 per month.

2) Pay White Smile Dental directly – we do require €500 on attaching top braces and €500 on attaching bottom braces.
The remaining treatment cost can be spread out over the length of your treatment on a monthly basis.

3) If you pay in full at start of your treatment – we offer a further 10% discount.

***Remember, further savings are available by claiming 20% of your treatment cost back against your income tax bill.

We always start with a FREE in surgery consultation. There is no obligation to continue. Our free consultation allows us to assess your bite and jaw to ensure safe tooth movement prior to starting. We also discuss the braces options that would be most suitable for your particular case, approx length of treatment required and treatment plan.

There are a number of dangers that can result from simply starting braces without an initial assessment. Not only do braces move your teeth, they affect your facial structure, bite, jaw positioning, nose, and sinuses. You must come for an initial consultation so our dentists can determine the right path for your treatment.

Most braces treatments fall between 6 and 18 months, depending on the complexity of tooth movement. We’ll give you a personalised timeline at your consultation. A visit every 5 to 6 weeks (depending on the complexity of your case) so we can check your progress and to ensure the correct movements are taking place.

Absolutely. Braces aren’t just for teenagers — more adults than ever are choosing orthodontic treatment. Options like ceramic braces and clear aligners make treatment discreet and practical for busy professionals.

Traditional Metal Braces

  • What they are: These are the classic style of braces, crafted from durable stainless steel. They’ve been used for decades because of their reliability.
  • How they work: Small brackets are placed on each tooth and connected with a thin archwire. The wire applies gentle pressure to gradually shift teeth into alignment.
  • Best for: Children, teenagers, and adults who want a highly effective and budget-friendly treatment.
  • Pros: Strong, predictable, and usually the most affordable option.
  • Cons: They are more noticeable compared to other modern alternatives.

Ceramic Braces

  • Overview: These braces look similar to traditional metal ones, but the brackets are clear or tooth-coloured, so they’re less visible.
  • Best suited for: Teenagers and adults who want an effective treatment but with a more discreet appearance.
  • Advantages: Blend in with your teeth, suitable for complex orthodontic needs.
  • Drawbacks: Slightly higher cost than metal braces; brackets may stain if not cared for properly.

Clear Aligners (e.g. Invisalign®)

  • Overview: Clear aligners are removable trays, custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth. They’re almost invisible and can be taken out for eating and brushing.
  • Best suited for: Teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic issues who want a discreet and flexible treatment.
  • Advantages: Comfortable, barely noticeable, removable for meals and oral care.
  • Drawbacks: Not appropriate for every case; results depend on wearing them consistently for 20–22 hours per day.

Clear braces and ceramic braces are good for certain cases depending on complexity. Clear braces tend to work best for mild to moderate cases. Metal braces are better for longer more complex cases.

Hard, sticky, or chewy foods (like popcorn, toffee, or chewing gum) can damage brackets and wires. Softer foods are easier to manage, especially in the first few days after fitting.
Yes. Regular dental check-ups are important to keep your teeth and gums healthy while you’re wearing braces.

Yes. Retainers are essential to keep your teeth in their new position after treatment. They’re usually worn full-time at first, then just at night.
